Access Statement
For Sunny Nook Guest House
Introduction:
We are a small family run Bed & Breakfast with four double en-suite
bedrooms (two on the ground floor, and two on the first floor). The
following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any
specific questions please feel free to call us, and we will
endeavour to help.
Pre-Arrival:
-
We are 15
miles from Barnstaple where there is a National coach station,
and a mainline railway station.

Buses are
more frequent in the summer, there is a bus stop for local buses
200yds from our entrance. (we have current timetables)

We are 600
yards from the beach and Woolacombe village, on a road which is
a fairly steep hill (down to the village, and back up to us.)
-
There is a
footpath which begins 100 yards from our entrance, and goes down
to the village.

We have our
own website, with photos of most rooms.
-
Sunny Nook
is Non Smoking by law (internally), but we do not take smokers
at all, not even on the car park.

Arrival & Car
Parking Facilities:

We have our
own level carpark, with marked bays for four cars

Assistance
with luggage is offered to all guests.

The entrance
is along slightly uneven crazed concrete path with seating areas
in the guest garden overlooking the sea.

The car park
is lit until midnight, and paths by sensor lights.
Main Entrance &
Reception:
-
There is a
5 step, then a 10lip into a small porch with grab handles
either side. A further 5 step allows access into the
hall/reception, again with grab handles. Door width is 31
inches.
24 hour access with your own tagged key, kept in the hall on
hooks.

All guests
are escorted to rooms, and facilities in rooms explained.

Emergency
night bell located in reception.
Public areas:
-
Safety
lights or main lights on 24 hrs in public areas.

There are 13
stairs, with handrail on both sides to upper floor bedrooms.
Stair width is 33.

There are no
public area toilets, all rooms are en-suite.
Dining Room &
Lounge:
-
Breakfast is
served in the dining room on the ground floor.
-
Oblong
tables have an underspace of 24 high (legs on each corner),
chairs without arms.

Door to
Dining room is 29 wide.
-
Vegan,
Vegetarian, Gluten free and all other diets catered for, however
we do need to know before your arrival.

Large print
breakfast menus are available on request.
-
One ground
floor bedroom is adjacent to the sitting room with a small step.
Laundry:
-
There is
outside drying space for wetsuits etc.
-
On request,
we are able to dry outdoor clothes, towels, etc.
Bedrooms:
-
Two double
bedrooms on the ground floor, one with en-suite shower, and one
with en-suite bath. Two further double bedrooms on first floor,
both with en-suite showers.

All bedrooms
have secure lockable doors.
-
TVs/DVDs
all have remote control and teletext.
-
Cordless
kettles in all rooms.
-
Fitted
carpets in all bedrooms, with matt textured tiled floors in all
bathrooms.
-
Lights have
low energy bulbs, with bedside lights and extra lighting.
-
All beds are
standard doubles, family suite has two singles 36 wide.
Bathroom,
Shower-room & WC (en-suite):

Doors to
bathrooms are 27 wide, mainly opening outwards.

Shower
cubicle edge is 10 high downstairs, and 9 upstairs, and bath
is 22 high

textured tiled floors

Lever handle
taps in all bathrooms

Showers are
fitted with thermo water temp controls

Showerheads
are adjustable
Grounds &
Garden:

Guest garden
is sloping, and has four steps

Sloping path
with handrail and sensor lights down to garden gate

Fridge facilities are available in the kitchen, for medication.
